John Paul (JP) Phaup was Managing Director – Investments of Wells Fargo Advisors in McLean, Virginia, from 1991–2019. While there he specialized in wealth management and charitable strategies for clients, while giving hundreds of seminars and presentations for continuing education classes, business conferences, governmental agencies and others. JP also served on the George Mason University Foundation for twelve years and as Chairman of the Investment Committee. For several years he was an adjunct professor of finance and a lecturer for nonprofit studies at Mason.
He was appointed Chairman of the Arts at Mason Partnership and founded Instruments in the Attic along with the Mason Community Arts Academy. Prior to the investment industry, JP was a political consultant and campaign manager and co-founded a software firm that developed microsystems for campaign efforts. Phaup earned his BA in Public Affairs from the University of Southern California, an MBA from George Mason University, and was named Masonʼs Alumnus of the Year 2009.
